Spanish belongs to the Roman twig of the Indo-European and originate mainly from the Latin and shows a lot of resemblance with her geographic neighbours in Europe. Regarding to the phonology, grammar and orthographic Spanish is related to different languages. Of this, Portuguese shows the most resemblance. However, Spanish is also related to Catalan, Astoria, Galicia and several other Roman languages. Spanish shows fewer resemblances with French and Italian, but in spite of this, Spanish has strong connections with these languages because of the Latin background.
